Addressing Stress and Anxiety Resulting from the COVID-19 Pandemic
[This webinar is part of the COVID-19 Pandemic Response Webinar Series.] Now, more than ever, staff need outlets for their own stress and anxiety in order to prevent those emotions from impacting your residents. Residents who will suffer the stress of not being permitted to visit with friends and family, attend group activities or eat their meals in the dining room will cause a variety of reactions. This session focuses on anticipating and addressing the “cabin fever” that is sure to impact everyone concerned - residents, staff, and their families. There are some very simple things facilities can do now to avoid the mood and behavior challenges that often accompany critical events and can potentially escalate to abuse, neglect and altercations.

2020 ICD-10 Coding Training for SNFs Background for State Affiliate Staff
The Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) relies on rapid and accurate patient assessment and diagnosis, and on MDS and ICD-10 coding to determine payments for each SNF patient. Incorrect or insufficient coding can significantly impact the payment rate for each patient.
AHCA has partnered again this year with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to offer two updated on-line ICD-10 trainings – one 16-hour training for SNF staff with coding responsibilities and one 4-hour training for staff in non-coding roles. These two trainings include 2020 updates, new exercises and case studies. In addition, two new 2.5-hour trainings have been added in 2020 to the ICD-10 training collection with the 2020 updates for staff with ICD-10 coding experience/knowledge
Who should attend: Nursing Home Administrators, Director of Nursing, Nursing Leadership, Facility Department Managers, RAI Coordinator, QA Director.

COVID-19 Pandemic Response on-demand series - The Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) has challenged all long-term care facilities to make modifications to their day-to-day care and services to achieve compliance with all of the Infection Control restrictions being mandated by Federal, State, and local governments. This pandemic will have a significant impact on the psychosocial well-being of residents and staff due to the limitations on movement within the facility environment, a moratorium on visitation, and a shrinking caregiving staff as the virus continues to spread exponentially. This three-part series of discussions offers guidance on adapting care and services to achieve compliance with regulatory directives, while maintaining quality of life for all concerned. https://www.ihca.org/COVID-19-Pandemic-Response-Webinar-Series/
