Achieve Your Degree Program

Companies that offer tuition benefits to their employees or institutions with access to funding for their members are uniquely positioned to partner with Ivy Tech to offer the Achieve Your Degree Program (AYD) and assist employees to pursue their education with minimal up-front cost to the student.

Ivy Tech assists students with the college and financial aid application process and defers billing until the end of the semester – ensuring students take advantage of any financial aid opportunities they qualify for. Company tuition plans then cover the balance per company policy.

In-state tuition is offered to all students regardless of their primary residence. A combination of face to face and distance education courses ensures that students can maintain their work schedule while attending classes.

Cohorts of IVYT Student Success courses are created for Achieve Your Degree Students in order to provide communication and services to students’ unique needs.

Ivy Tech

Long Term Care Specialist Certificate

In 2018 Ivy Tech Community College and IHCA/INCAL developed a new credential, Long Term Care Specialist Certificate, to meet the increasing demand for bedside caregivers in long term care facilities.

Ivy Tech has long offered training programs for CNAs, however the looming workforce crisis created a need to formalize CNAs career pathways.

The Long Term Care Specialist certificate program creates a foundation for CNAs to continue their education in nursing or other health care related occupations.

The certificate program offers  individuals the opportunity to obtain their CNA and continue their education by earning certifications in:

  • dementia care
  • restorative care
  • qualified medical assistant and
  • meal planning

Ivy Tech collaborated with long term care employer members of IHCA/INCAL to develop the stair-stepped approach for the sector’s entry-level direct care employees. Individuals are able to move along a career pathway under one credit-bearing program that also offers them the ability to cross-walk existing on-the-job-training within a long term care setting.

IHCA/INCAL members have the option to enroll their employees into this certificate program through Ivy Tech’s Achieve Your Degree (AYD) program at no additional cost to the employee. AYD allows employers to provide tuition reimbursement on a deferral basis to their employees, along with concierge services for enrollment, financial aid, and advising. Training received as part of the Long Term Care Specialist Certificate may also be eligible for reimbursement under the NextLevel Jobs Employer Training Grant program.

Those interested in this program may contact their local Ivy Tech campus for enrollment information. Long term care employees should check with their employer to determine AYD or tuition reimbursement eligibility.
