IHCA/INCAL is excited to collaborate with Google and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education to launch Google’s Pathways project as a pilot in the Indianapolis area.

  • The Pathways product connects entry-level job seekers on Google with vocational training opportunities that help them gain better paying and more satisfying jobs. Users learn about specific occupations and what training/education is required. Users will be able to view and compare specific programs in their area and choose the one that is best for their needs.
  • In order to launch the pilot, Google is seeking data from employers and training providers. IHCA/INCAL will be working with Google to engage our member employers and local training providers (including facility-based nurse aide training programs) in the data collection process.
  • High-demand LTC-related jobs included in the pilot are: CNA, LPN, RN, PT Aides/Assistants, OT Aides/Assistants
  • Google will ask for the following data from employers participating in the pilot:
    • Job titles
    • Credential/credential type required
    • Credentialing body
    • If credential is required at time of hire
    • Hire rate for specific training programs

Facilities in the Indianapolis metro area should be on the lookout for a forthcoming email requesting your participation in the pilot program. Google plans to expand the program to other parts of the state following evaluation of the pilot.
