Late last month the proposed Indiana Medicaid State Plan Amendment was approved by CMS, and as a result, July 1, 2019 nursing facility rates will be released. According to the Office of Medicaid and Policy Planning, they will release all 3 rates on consecutive days (i.e. July 1, 2019 rate on 1/13/20; October 1, 2019 on 1/14/20; January 1, 2020 on 1/15/20). This should put all the rates into the same retro processing cycle and should minimize the amount of retro rate adjustments.
Due to the volume of releasing all three rates on consecutive days, rates will be released in batches beginning this week, continuing for three weeks, and concluding the last week of January.
Providers on the first batch will be sent:
- January 13, 2020 – 07/01/2019
- January 14, 2020 – 10/01/2019
- January 15, 2020 – 01/01/2020
Providers on the second batch will be sent:
- January 20, 2020 – 07/01/2019
- January 21, 2020 – 10/01/2019
- January 22, 2020 – 01/01/2020
Providers on the third batch will be sent:
- January 27, 2020 – 07/01/2019
- January 28, 2020 – 10/01/2019
- January 29, 2020 – 01/01/2020
