The Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living (IHCA/INCAL) is pleased to congratulate two member communities on receiving the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living’s (AHCA/NCAL) 2021 Silver – Achievement in Quality – Award.

AHCA/NCAL’s National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process that is reviewed and judged by trained experts against the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, which helps organizations achieve superior performance in order to improve quality of life and care for long-term care residents and staff.

At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve organizational performance and health care outcomes.  As a recipient of the Silver – Achievement in Quality – Award, the communities may now move forward in developing approaches that meet the Gold – Excellence in Quality – Award criteria.

The following Indiana communities received the 2021 Silver – Achievement in Quality – Award:

  • Bethany Village – Indianapolis
  • Riverwalk Village – Indianapolis

“Reaching the Silver Award level, while also heroically protecting and caring for residents during a pandemic is remarkable,” said IHCA/INCAL President Zach Cattell.  “I applaud the resiliency and dedication of Bethany Village and Riverwalk Village for continuing their quality improvement journey and for this outstanding achievement.”

Bronze Award applicants were notified on June 3, and Gold Award applicants will be notified on August 6.
