On April 9, 2021, the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning announced that that additional COVID relief has been approved for nursing facilities for 2Q 2021. A temporary rate increase of 3.0 % will be implemented beginning 4/1/2021 and ending 6/30/2021. The 3% increase for 2Q 2021 represents a reduction to the 4.2% rate increase that had been in place for the thirteen months ending 03/31/2021. OMPP explained that the rate adjustment is a response to the improved COVID metrics observed across the state and the successful COVID vaccination efforts for nursing facilities. Rate notification letters are being prepared and will be made available to providers the week of April 26.
