Educate, inform & advocate

on behalf of Indiana's health care

Advancing Indiana’s long-term care profession.

The Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA) is Indiana's largest trade association and advocate representing proprietary, not-for-profit and hospital-based skilled nursing, assisted living communities and Independent Living. IHCA's more than 440 member facilities care for more than 25,000 of Indiana's geriatric and developmentally disabled citizens, the majority of whom are low-income Medicaid recipients.

Our Mission

The mission of the Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA) is to educate, inform, and advocate on behalf of health care providers, consumers, and the workforce. IHCA maintains legislative, regulatory, reimbursement and public affairs, as well as member services. Staff works internally to serve member providers and externally to assist the interests of government, the greater health care community and the general public.

Our Association

Governed by a 15-member board of directors, IHCA was founded in 1958 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to quality long-term care. IHCA is a founding member of the profession's premier national organization, the American Health Care Association.

IHCA offers membership to facilities and also Associate Members, or companies that provide valuable products and services to long-term care providers. Among other services, IHCA connects Associate Members with Indiana's largest group of long-term care buyers.
