On March 22, 2021, Governor Holcomb issued Executive Order 20-07, allowing those temporary health care licenses issued to date under the public health emergency to be extended for an additional 90-day period. This is the fourth extension since the initial approval. This fourth 90-day extension applies to the following health care professionals who were granted a temporary license:
- Health care professionals with an active out-of-state license;
- Retired health care professionals whose licenses were rendered inactive within the past five years but were not revoked, suspended, or relinquished;
- Physician assistant students who successfully completed all required course work and applied for a license with the Professional Licensing Agency (PLA);
- Nursing students who successfully completed all required course work and applied for a license with the PLA;
- Respiratory care practitioner students who successfully completed all required course work and applied for a license with the PLA; and
- Graduate pharmacists who successfully completed all required course work and applied for a license with the PLA.
As a reminder, all health care professionals who do not hold an active Indiana license who are practicing during the public health emergency must register with the PLA, unless a professional compact otherwise applies. The PLA’s COVID-19 Temporary Health Care Provider Registry can be found here.
