Educating. Informing. Advocating.

WHO WE ARE

The Indiana Health Care Association is Indiana’s largest trade association and advocate representing skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities and independent living.

Who We Serve

Skilled Nursing Facilities

Providing highly skilled medical and therapy services as well as a home-like environment, Indiana’s nursing facilities care for residents with complex health care needs.

Assisted Living Communities

Indiana’s assisted living communities provide residents that need help with some daily care, more independence and social engagement opportunities.

Businesses and Vendors

Ranging from medical supplies to food and entertainment services, hundreds of businesses partner with providers in the senior living sector each and every day.

OUR MISSION

To educate, inform, and advocate on behalf of health care providers, consumers, and those who care for Indiana’s geriatric and developmentally disabled citizens.

We Are All In This Together

COVID-19 Information Hub

We are closely monitoring the news and guidance concerning COVID-19 and are working with the Governor’s office, the Indiana State Department of Health and AHCA/NCAL, to ensure our member providers receive the necessary guidance to care for the most vulnerable Hoosiers during this public health emergency. COVID-19 Testing and Documentation Compliance Guidance

On August 25, 2020 CMS published an interim final rule that established Long-Term Care facility testing requirements for staff and residents.  Embedded in the rule are documentation requirements and mention of a revised COVID-19 Focused Survey Toll.  The tool will be used by the surveyors to assess providers of their compliance with the testing requirements. IHCA has exclusively developed a quality assurance guide to help  SNF providers identify gaps in the required documentation in order to stay compliant and avoid citations.
