In a surprise announcement during a recent phone call, OMPP has decided to pay a full 21-days at $115/day for any resident that resided in a COVID-19 Ready facility and was in a COVID-unit. Previous guidance and billing instruction indicated that they would pay up to 21-days and only the specific number of days the resident was in the COVID-unit. The limitation on this is that any resident in a COVID-unit before the effective date of May 1 or after the end date of August 31 would be limited to the number of days that fell within the authorized payment period (example, resident in COVID-unit from April 25 to May 5 would be eligible for 5 days of the add-on, where as a resident in a COVID-unit from May 10 to May 17 would be eligible for the full 21-day payment). New billing guidelines can be found here.
