NCAL recently conducted a survey on the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) in assisted living communities. A large number of members responded to this critical survey and thank you to those of you who participated.  A summary of the results is found here. The survey found that more than half of respondents have less than a two-week supply of PPE.

The survey also showed that more than 70 percent of communities have asked for help from state and local health agencies and yet were not able to procure the supplies.  NCAL will be using the results of this survey with elected officials and the press to continue our ask for support for assisted living communities, specifically in relation to NCAL’s request of $5 billion in funding from HHS to help pay for PPE supplies as well as expanded testing and additional staffing.
