Magnifying the voices of senior living to improve resident care

Our Advocacy

From the Indiana General Assembly to regulatory agencies to the United States Congress, our team of professionals advocates for your communities and residents. We track and develop policy that impact senior living operations and clinical care and ensure that you, our members, know about these developments and have opportunities to make your voices heard.

It is critical for leaders of government to hear directly from you, both as providers of care and as constituents. Our team can help you make these connections and have a positive impact on public policy.

Active Issues

Workforce Development

The COVID-19 pandemic created unprecedented challenges for our entire health care and public health system. Many health care providers are facing a labor crisis right now, but nursing homes are grappling with the worst loss compared to all other health care sectors. IHCA/INCAL is actively working with legislators and policymakers to implement immediate solutions to address the workforce crisis in long-term care.

Long Term Services and Supports Reform

As IHCA/INCAL continues to prohibit managed care companies from managing the health of our frail and vulnerable population, Indiana Medicaid is engaging IHCA/INCAL and other stakeholders to begin redesigning Medicaid for the aged and disabled populations to provide both community and institutional services. This will be a multi-year project that commenced during the summer of 2019.
