HealthCare Interactive’s CARES^® Dementia Basics^™ module is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association^® for successfully incorporating the evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the following topic areas: Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication. This course is also available in Spanish.

CARES^® training is unique because it also includes actual direct-care video “before and after” training with an easy-to-use, easy-to-remember approach to dementia care called the CARES^® Approach (C-Connect, A-Assess Behavior, R-Respond, E-Evaluate, and S-Share). The CARES^® Approach can be used in any situation, with any person with dementia, and at any stage of the disease.CARES® Dementia Certification™ (Included at no additional cost with qualifying CARES® Online Training Programs). These courses are recommended for all nursing facility and assisted living staff.

CARES® Dementia Basics™
Four modules, four hours with packages for organizations. It is appropriate for family caregivers as well as professionals.

CARES® Dementia Advanced Care™ 
Six modules, six hours with packages organizations. Once you complete CARES Dementia Basics, continue your learning with our 6-hour advanced course, CARES® Dementia Advanced Care™.

CARES® Dementia-Related Behavior™
Four modules, four hours with packages for organizations. This program focuses on the behavior of people with dementia that is hard to understand and difficult to respond to, like resisting care, swearing, repeating and calling out, hitting, and biting. You’ll learn thoughtful and effective ways to care for people with dementia when they are confused, frustrated, scared, or angry.

CARES® Activities of Daily Living™ (4-hour and 10-hour courses)
Ten modules, ten hours with packages for organizations. This program focuses on the specific changes in ADLs at the early, mid, late, and end stages of dementia and offers appropriate care strategies for bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, using the bathroom, and more.

CARES® End-of-Life Dementia Care™
Five modules, five hours with packages for organizations. This program helps the care team—including the family—understand what is happening to a person with dementia at the end of life. The CARES® Approach equips caregivers with tools and strategies to approach end-of-life care with confidence.
