IHCA/INCAL Facility Membership

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the IHCA/INCAL family.  For more than 60 years, the Association has provided its members with unparalleled support in legislative, reimbursement and regulatory functions to enhance operational efficiencies and access to exclusive suite of resources and tools that foster professional development and continual learning across the organization.

Important Reminders

IHCA/INCAL’s facility membership is available for Indiana’s skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities. The membership benefits can be enjoyed by all facility employees and staff in your corporate office.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The IHCA/INCAL Regular “A” membership is available to:
    • health care facilities licensed under Indiana Code 12 or 16, or applicable successor statutes, and
    • facilities not subject to licensure and serving the elderly, such as independent living and adult day care.
  • A person or entity having at least 50% of the control or authority over more than one (1) facility eligible for membership must submit an application for all facilities over which the control or authority is exercised.

Dues Information

  • Dues are collected by IHCA/INCAL on behalf of our national membership organization, the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
  • Dues amounts set forth below do not include any applicable discount provided by the IHCA, INCAL, AHCA or NCAL.
  • AHCA/NCAL received a national member vote to raise the AHCA/NCAL dues in 2024 & 2025, effective on January 1 of each year.
    • SNF dues rate: $21.20 (2024), $21.80 (2025)
    • AL dues rate: $10.80 (2024), $11.12 (2025)
  • Dues will be collected from the applicant upon approval of membership by the IHCA Board of Directors and according to the IHCA Dues Collection Policy.
  • Any applicable discounts will be applied to dues invoices.

Non-Deductible Dues

  • In compliance with Section 6033(e) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), the Indiana Health Care Association reasonably estimates that 3% of 2024 IHCA dues will be spent on lobbying and other expenditures subject to Section 162(e)(1) of the IRC. In addition, the American Health Care Association reasonably estimates that 30% of 2024 AHCA dues will be spent on lobbying and other expenditures subject to Section 162(e)(1) of the IRC. Therefore, these portions of 2024 IHCA and AHCA dues, respectively, are not deductible for Federal income tax purposes.

Dues Structure

Annual Dues for all approved facilities are charged on a per bed basis. Dues may be paid annually or quarterly on a pro-rata basis.

IHCA/INCAL

  • *Comprehensive Care Bed Rate: $42.40
  • Licensed Residential, Unlicensed Assisted Living, & Independent Living Bed Rate: $21.20

AHCA/NCAL

  • Comprehensive Care Bed Rate: $21.20
  • Licensed Residential, Unlicensed Assisted Living, & Independent Living Bed Rate: $10.80

*IHCA comprehensive care bed rates have not increased since 2014.
