The below listed training programs are offered through HealthCare Interactive and offer valuable resources to help reduce the off-label use of antipsychotics.
CARES online training was developed for both professional and family care providers for people living with dementia. The online programs—available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—give administrators access to track training progress by employees. Site licenses are available to train and certify all staff for one low price. Continuing education submission packets are also available.
CARES® Dementia Basics™
Four modules, four hours with packages for organizations. It is appropriate for family caregivers as well as professionals.
CARES® Dementia Advanced Care™
Six modules, six hours with packages organizations. Once you complete CARES Dementia Basics, continue your learning with our 6-hour advanced course, CARES® Dementia Advanced Care™.
CARES® Dementia-Related Behavior™
Four modules, four hours with packages for organizations. This program focuses on the behavior of people with dementia that is hard to understand and difficult to respond to, like resisting care, swearing, repeating and calling out, hitting, and biting. You’ll learn thoughtful and effective ways to care for people with dementia when they are confused, frustrated, scared, or angry.
CARES® Activities of Daily Living™
Ten modules, ten hours with packages for organizations. This program focuses on the specific changes in ADLs at the early, mid, late, and end stages of dementia and offers appropriate care strategies for bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, using the bathroom, and more.
CARES® End-of-Life Dementia Care™
Five modules, five hours with packages for organizations. This program helps the care team—including the family—understand what is happening to a person with dementia at the end of life. The CARES® Approach equips caregivers with tools and strategies to approach end-of-life care with confidence.
