IHCA is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors that is exclusively comprised of senior leaders of member long term care and assited living communities. Board Meetings are open to all IHCA members and Associate Members.

The committee analyzes current legislation from the Indiana General Assembly that impacts, or could impact, the long term care and assisted living profession. The committee also helps craft state policy agenda items for the association to lobby. The committee coordinates with other committees of the association and makes recommendations to the IHCA/INCAL Board of Directors on legislative agenda items.

There are two separate committees related to regulatory and clinical affairs – one with a focus on nursing facilities and one with a focus on assisted living communities. The committees examine and analyze emerging regulatory, clinical, and quality issues that impact, or could impact, the long term care and assisted living profession. The committees also discuss practical matters related to how the survey process is applied, with an eye toward identifying regulatory trends and/or patterns that can be instructive to all members. The committees coordinate with other committees of the association, including the INCAL Advisory Council, and makes recommendations to the IHCA Board of Directors on items requiring action.

Monthly Payment Updates Committee
This committee is open to all IHCA/INCAL members. IHCA/INCAL staff provide updates on Medicate and Medicaid reimbursement and seek feedback from membership on payment related topics. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Elizabeth Eivhhorn at email@example.com
The committee examines and analyzes reimbursement and payment policy issues that impact, or could impact, the long-term care and assisted living profession. The committee makes recommendations to the IHCA/INCAL Board of Directors on items requiring action.
The purposes of the workgroup are to increase communication and foster greater understanding between the long-term care provider community and the payor community in Indiana. The workgroup will identify Medicaid and Medicare payment and operational issues and work to find resolutions. The workgroup will also give the opportunity for the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, the Division of Aging and the state fiscal agent to participate in the dialogue between these two communities.
The committee's goal is to discuss, review and make recommendations on issues affecting the nursing facility and assisted living workforce. The committee coordinates with other association committees, as well as the AHCA/NCAL workforce committee, and makes recommendations to the IHCA/INCAL Board of Directors on items requiring action. The committee may form other ad hoc subcommittees as need and interest warrant.

The goals of the INCAL Advisory Council are to provide direction on INCAL’s member services and offerings, provide input and/or communication with legislators and state agencies, as well as, incorporating NCAL’s services to enhance the assisted living member benefit.
