Fridays from the State House is a weekly digital communication exclusively developed for more than 6,800 IHCA/INCAL members sent and highlights the legislative action that affects the long-term care providers of our state.

This year, we are offering two events. A two-day Emergency Preparedness Disaster Summit will be held February 6-7 and an intensive two-day workshop on Life Safety Code will be held October 28-29. Both events are geared towards maintenance directors, physical plant operations, environmental services and facility administrators.

The Assisted Living Symposium is an event tailored to the assisted living and independent living industry. Sessions are focused on assisted living nurses and clinical management and a variety of topics geared toward facility administrators, directors of admission, memory care directors, wellness/activity programming personnel, dining and nutrition personnel, and corporate staff. Average annual attendance is 75+. Symposium date TBD.
The Culinary Caregiver Competition is an event tailored to showcase food service in long term care. Three facility chefs will be selected and challenged by local food critics to receive the title of the top chef in long term care. The event will take place on May 15, 2025 on the Ivy Tech campus in Indianapolis.
