"I chose the Hammond Whiting Care Center for my mom because it has a home feeling. The nurses and aids have a very personal touch with the residents. The home is very clean,and the therapy staff is top notch. My mom has improved greatly since she has been here. She is on a very carefully planned diet for her. The activities are great, and they are always kept busy. Church services are available also. I can go home at night and call any time and I will always be told how my mother is doing. "In February of 2003 my mother had gotten so ill she was down to 85 lbs., and her doctor admitted her to the hospital. We knew she couldn't return home and be alone. Being an only child, there was no way I could care for her alone. She has mild Alzheimer's and Sundowners syndrome and can't be left alone.

We talked to the nursing staff at the hospital and they recommended Miller's Merry Manor in Culver. That was one of the most heart wrenching decisions I have ever made.

Mom was transferred from the hospital to the nursing home. Between my tears, the on-duty nurse assured me they would take care of her.

Mom has gained 36 lbs., shows very little confusion, has made some very good friends and loves the staff. Everyone is so good to her and she has done so wonderful since being there. We know we made the right choice. We are welcome to visit anytime, any hour of the day or night.

We have never seen a resident mistreated, or in danger. The building is always clean, the meals are appetizing and the many activities available to the residents are wonderful. This has been a blessing! I can sleep at night and not worry about my beloved mother."
