Scholarships: Training Acceleration Grant (TAG)
The Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA), in partnership with IVY Tech Community College, is proud to announce its Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA) program designed for IHCA members. This program is specific to the Training Acceleration Grant (TAG) that IHCA was awarded through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The TAG is a matching fund grant which requires each facility to pay for the cost of the program and file for a reimbursement through the Indiana Health Care Association. This grant will expire on August 20, 2008.

Facilities much acheive certain core objectives and outcomes, including:
  • Increase personal income for Hoosier workers
  • Foster job retention and expansion
Trainees must be full-time, incumbent workers.  They cannot be contract or temporary workers.  Under the grant, an incumbent worker is defined as an employee beyond probationary status with a company.

The TAG Program Guidelines  and a current listing of Qualifying Facilities are currently available.

Qualifying facilities should apply as soon as possible.  There is currently $129,684 remaining on the grant which expires 8/20/08. CNA certification must be completed before the grant expires

The coordination of the CNA programs with IVY Tech Community College will be managed by IHCA through the grant administration.

Facilities that have an interest with the grant should contact Dorothy Henry at 800-466-IHCA or 317-636-6406, x 116. You may also contact Dorothy via email at dhenry@ihca.org.
