The Indiana Health Care Policy Institute (IHCPI) is a multi-disciplinary group of faculty and staff dedicated to conducting research on key issues in health policy. IHCPI’s mission is to promote healthcare issues concerning minorities, aged and chronically ill Hoosiers. Institute members are engaged in a wide diversity of projects, focusing on health care inequalities and inequities, staffing shortages in health care facilities, increasing cultural competencies relating to health care, and quality of care and outcomes research.
The outcomes of the research carried out by Institute help shape long term care policy in the state of Indiana. The Institute provides information for presentations, testimony at legislative hearings, or informal briefings with legislators. In addition, findings are disseminated through special publications, books, and academic journals. Funds award by IHCPI are to educate the general public on healthcare issues, support research and awareness projects to promote and improve healthcare outcomes and the delivery of healthcare services. IHCPI funds are awarded through scholarships, sponsorships and underwriting.
