Dennis Neary, BA, MA

Director of Legislative and Political Affairs

Dennis has over three years experience as a lobbyist for the Indiana Health Care Association. Prior to coming to IHCA, Dennis served as Chairman of the Indiana Education Employment Relations Board. He was appointed by Governor Frank O'Bannon in January, 1997. The Board deals with negotiating contracts for all the 302 school corporations in the state.

Dennis was a State Senator for sixteen years serving the people of La Porte and Starke counties. He was elected by his fellow senators to be Minority Floor leader for four of those years. His leadership roles also included Caucus Chairman. Dennis taught fifth and sixth grades for 23 years at Long Beach Elementary school in Michigan City.

Dennis received his B.A. form Murray State University and a Masters in Education form Indiana University. Dennis serves on the Board of Minority Health Coalition of Marion County.
