Who Should Attend?
Any individual interested in working as an activity director, assistant or aide in a healthcare facility should attend. A qualified activity director must successfully complete this course within six months of hire to meet the State requirements. This course has numerous updates and serves as a great refresher course for those who are experienced and those interested in reentering the profession.
Course Structure
This Activity Director Course allows greater flexibility for attendee’s schedules & offers more home-study work to be completed on your schedule. This comprehensive agenda covers key components for regulatory compliance and the overall functions of the activity department within a health care facility. The format offers 48 hours of classroom instruction (in-person) & approximately 42 hours of home study. This course is approved by the Indiana State Department of Health and meets the regulatory requirements.
Meets State Regulations
This course satisfies Indiana State Regulation IAC 410 16.2-3.1-33 (e)(4), which requires an approved 90-hour training course for activity professionals. Students must attend all class days, complete the assigned omework and successfully pass the course exam.
