Advanced Education in Wound Care for Long Term Care Professionals
The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is sponsoring Wound Care training to help long term care professionals in Indiana prevent pressure ulcers and implement effective wound care.
Who should attend: Long term care professionals who are interested in pressure ulcer prevention and wound care
Trainer: Wound Care Education Institute® (WCEI)
Delivery Mode: Four-day, face-to-face training course. Class is 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday and 9 am – 4:30 pm Tuesday - Thursday.
Content: This skin and wound management course offers an evidence-based approach to skin and wound management. The curriculum was developed using current standards of care practices. Taught by dynamic wound care certified instructors, students can expect to be engaged in an interactive environment.
Credential: This course offers in-depth training for clinicians interested in advancing their knowledge and skills and will prepare candidates for the Wound Care Certified (WCC®) certification examination. *Upon completion of this course, the next step is to take the WCC® exam. Once you take and pass the exam, then you are Wound Care Certified. Taking this course alone does not constitute you as wound certified.* Wound Care Education Institute® (WCEI) is the official course provider for the WCC® board certification. CEUs: 22.75 CEUs are available for Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Doctors, Administrators and Social Workers.
